Import Email Contacts for Network Sharing

Import Contacts using PhoneEvents.com

We’ve recently expanded network capacity for user’s contacts. Users can now import up to 300 contacts from Yahoo Mail, Google’s Gmail, and MSN Hotmail. This function takes about 5 seconds to create your own network for sharing events by phone. You can create multiple groups, as well as share a phone event with a member or two of a given group that you create. Overall, this is a great way to get the word out on concerts, the hot dj at  the cool night club, that cool bar, or any other event that you want to share with your personal network.

Mobile Tickets

LG Vu on AT&T

We continue to make strong progress on our ticketing services which we will be launching in the coming weeks. When completed, you will be able to purchase tickets directly from phoneevents.com using your computer, or using your cell phone. All you will need is a credit or debit card, and you will be able to securely purchase tickets to upcoming concerts, night club, and other events with hard to find tickets. You will also be able to easily share information about ticket availability with hundreds of friends within seconds.

Note that phoneevents.com will not be the provider of the tickets, we will only be providing services so that you can easily get hard to find tickets. Also note that you will not receive the tickets in bar code format on your cell phone, so you can not only buy more than one ticket (subject to other provider limits), but if you cannot attend for any reason, or you’re buying for friends, or you decide you want to sell your tickets on Craigslist, Stubhub, or whereever, you’ll be able to do so as our ticketing providers will be mailing you your tickets that you purchase.

In the future, we will make ticket delivery using barcodes an option for you to choose if you want it. Barcoded tickets will never be the only way to get tickets from phoneevents.com, only an option if you choose it.

Phone Events Rocks on iPhone

The Phone Events service works on all cell phones which have mobile internet access. This gives phoneevents.com a worldwide reach of more than 2 billion cell phones. Unlike cumbersome applications which require software downloads, phone events works over the internet on both your computer and your cell phone without any software downloads.

Phone events on the Apple iPhone is quite spectacular. The touch screen functionality combined with the browsing utility of the iPhone’s Safari browser make for a great use of phone events. First of all, you can use phoneevents.com or phoneevents.mobi on the iPhone. Phoneevent.com features full color and graphics whereas phoneevents.mobi has been optimized to work on all cell phones which access the mobile web including phones with WAP, HTML, symbian, linux, brew, and J2ME (java) browsers.

Like all cell phones using phone events, the user experience is great, but it is significantly enhanced on the iPhone. Photo images are crystal clear, including the images associated with your personal groups of friends. Images that are part of events are also crisp, and of course you can pan and zoom for better viewing of the photos.

When you share events by email using your iPhone with other iPhone users, you get the shared emails in seconds right on your iPhone. It requires no syncing. Also, accessing your groups of up to 300 contacts is quite simple and fast to find someone with one flick of your finger on the iPhone.

You can also use your voice service while using phone events, it simply holds in place while you take or place your phone calls.

Overall, Phone Events is a fantastic application on your iPhone, and expect it to be even faster when Apple releases the broadband iPhone in the next 2 to 3 months.

Shortly, you will be able to buy tickets to concerts, sporting events, night clubs, theater, and any other ticketed events available on phoneevents.com. You will be able to purchase directly through you iPhone.

Personalized Channels

When you register for phone events, you select your preferred type of content by category. For instance, you may select live music as a category, and you may also select rock, hip hop, and r&b. When you use My Phone Events, your preferred categories show as channels on your cell phone. This is the case regardless of what type of cell phone you use whether it is a BlackBerry, iPhone, samsung blackjack, or a t-mobile sidekick. All of your channels show, and you can select to view “All Channels” which will show a summary of events in a given city, or you can select any one channel and you will see all of the events available at that time in that channel.

A great source of parties in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, and Miami is to look at the night club, party, bar, and live music channels on a given night. Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are usually really hot often showing as many as nearly 200 live music parties at night clubs or bars.

Remember, you can also add any hot clubs, parties, or bars that are happening that you know about. Just remember to select “Public” when you enter the events on your cell phone.

Create a Party using the Invite Function

When using phone events you can easily create invitations using the invite function on your computer or your cell phone. Invitations can be created on the fly, like if you’re hanging out at a cool bar in New York and you want to get your friends together to have an instant party. Or you can plan an event in advance and send out an invitation to make sure every one gets the event on their calendar. Invitations created and published using phone events can be shared with your personal network, or with the public - you choose when making your plans.
